A number of vehicles have been stolen in the early hours of this morning.
A car along with a farm quad and sprayer along with around £2,000 worth of power tools were taken from a farm near Amotherby at around 2am.
The car was later abandoned on a farm track.
Police sirens were later heard at around 6am in the Great Barugh area.
A number of vehicles are understood to have been stolen including a van and BMW.
The BMW later crashed into a street sign in Slingsby knocking it over.
An unmarked police car was also damaged in Amotherby.
The road at Barton-le-Street was also closed and a grey van crashed into the wall of one house with police searching the bushes between Barton-le-Street and Slingsby.
Three offenders are understood to have been arrested by police in Slingsby.
