Two fire crews called to Scarborough after report of fire
FIREFIGHTERS from Scarborough and Filey were called in after a report of fire yesterday.
North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service said their crews were called out at 8.00am yesterday morning (May 23) to Scarborough.
Crews were called to Wreyfield Drive in Newby after a report of a vehicle fire in a field.
A service spokesman said: "Crews from Scarborough and Filey responded to reports of a fire alarm sounding in a domestic property with no response.
This was a false alarm caused by cooking fumes."
