One of Ryedale’s most popular markets returns this weekend.
Hovingham Village Market is back this Saturday (May 7) featuring more than 40 stalls offering food and drink, arts and crafts, quality homeware and garments.
The event, which is run entirely by community volunteers, is expected to include market favourites among its line-up such as Haxby Bakehouse's artisan breads, cheerful blooms from Ducks and Daffodils and locally produced cuts of meat from Tancred Farm Shop.
The market has been a staple of the community since 2009 and promises new additions to the event this weekend.
Local artist, Ione Harrison, will be in attendance and she specialises in watercolours and often pushes its boundaries by bringing a physical element of the landscape to her paintings.
Also joining the market for the first time is La Maison Rustique - creators of street scenes and coastal views using driftwood sourced from the Yorkshire coastline.
The Community Café will return on Saturday and will be run by, and in aid of, Scackleton Action Group.
The last Community Café was run in April by volunteers from Hovingham CE Primary School, who raised £550.
Opening hours for the market are 10.30am to 1.30pm at Hovingham Village Hall.
