A garden in Sinnington will be open to the public ahead of The Yorkshire Arboretum’s Open Garden Programme this year.
Win Baldwin, from Friar’s Hill, is opening her garden on Saturday (April 9) with displays of North American Trilliums and Erythinums among other bulbs, which are expected to flower come the opening day.
Ms Baldwin has been collecting spring flowers for more than ten years and she will enter the Garden Programme for the first time since 2018.
Peter Williams, who visited the garden in 2018, said: “I had the privilege of visiting Win’s garden when she last opened for the Yorkshire Arboretum.
“What struck me most was the huge range of really first-class plants that she grew. Another remarkable feature was the maturity of the garden that had resulted in plants spreading to form generous informal drifts.”
Entry to the garden will cost £5 and all proceeds from visitors will go to The Yorkshire Arboretum, who are raising money for their plan collection.
Visitors should arrive between 1.30pm-4.30pm at Friar’s Hill, Sinnington YO62 6SL and refreshments will be available.
