A Ryedale museum is ready to reopen to the public after closing its doors in November - and there are new features to be revealed.
Eden Camp Modern History Museum, near Old Malton, is set to reopen on April 1 after closure of the 80-year-old site for necessary restorations.
The museum has also upgraded some of its attractions including a refurbishment of Hut 5 where their new Blitz Experience will be unveiled.
Harriett Stainton, Marketing Manager for Eden Camp, says that lockdowns and the need for refurbishment opened the opportunity to start works on the site.
The new Blitz Experience was created by Technical Director, Mark Broadbent, and it sets the scene of the first bombing of London in 1940.
The attraction is a journey through the city, which bears the sights, sounds and smells of the Blitz.
It aims to represent what the UK was facing at the time and includes some new immersive features.
Harriett Stainton said: "The floor actually vibrates. We asked the public what they wanted to see in there and that's what they came up with."
"The mannequin at the entrance is also my face. It took around 45 minutes with my face covered in plaster."
The site has also constructed its new Heritage Hall, which will be an Events and Exhibition space when it reopens.
It has also become the new home for their wartime vehicles and protect them from weathering to minimise the restoration.
Currently, the Hall features restored vehicles including the CRTV vehicles that went to the Falklands, which are on display for the 40th anniversary of the war.
The attractions across Eden Camp have been updated and the staff have delved into their archive of 80,000 items to display in their hut scenes.
More improvements are in the pipeline that will show what the Museum was like as a former Prisoner of War camp during World War Two.
