SIMON RYCROFT was the first Pickering Running Club member home at the Trail Outlaws Wooler Marathon, cruising home on the 28-mile course in five hours 24 minutes.
Set in the heart of the Northum-berland National Park, the undulating race features more than 6,000ft of elevation. Runners on the day were treated to bitter winds and hail.
Despite the difficult terrain and weather conditions, Rycroft's good time helped him to an 18th-placed finish overall.
Debbie Rycroft and Jenny Storrie tackled the half-marathon option, enjoying 2,500ft of elevation. Rycroft completed the course in an impressive 2.43, placing her third in category, with Storrie was close behind in 2.48.
Ben Myers just missed his sub-hour target at the Tadcaster 10.
Myers completed his impressive run on the 10-mile undulating course in 61 minutes 40 seconds.
