A NEW vicar has been welcomed to Norton.
Reverend Jenny Buckler has moved to Yorkshire from Somerset to take up the post at St Peter's Church.
She said: "Although a distance from my roots, I'm feeling at home in Norton. I come from a farming background, predominantly sheep and even have some family involved in horse racing, so the surroundings help me feel it's home from home.
"I used to work in the NHS as a children's speech and language therapist before being called into ordained ministry, which I'm loving."
St Peter's Church will be holding a Christingle Service at 3.30pm, on Sunday, December 5
Rev Buckler said: "At Christmas we remember that God packed His love, in a baby away in a manger. Jesus makes God's love and light known to us all. Come and explore and celebrate this with the loving church family at St Peter's Church.
