NORTON speedster Lane Tildesley has finished his Summer Series Flat Track season in third place.
Lane improved on his finish from last year, when he came just outside the podium places.
This time round, he put the gloss on a good season with a strong finish on Sunday (October 3) in the Junior 2 Class at Eddie Wright's Raceway in Scunthorpe.
Lane came Wyatt Hopkins of West Yorkshire and Alfie Croft - who had led the rankings at the halfway stage in June - of Derbyshire.
The youngster has his eye on next season when he will be going up a class and took his new bike - a Suzuki SV650 - for a practice spin in the adult IRB (inappropriate road bike, a class for road-legal bikes with limited modifications).
"It was his first time out on that one," dad Stuart said. "But he did okay."
He has also inspired eight-year-old younger brother Jerry-Lee, who wants to follow in Lane's footsteps - or tyre tracks.
