MALTON Museum is hosting a special lecture to celebrate its reopening.
The free online lecture by Dr Simon Elliott, author of ‘Roman Britain’s Missing Legion, what really happened to IX Hispana’, will be held on Wednesday, May 26, at 7pm.
The Ninth Legion are infamous for their chequered history within Britannia, not least because they disappeared from records completely after AD108. Dr Elliott is a Roman Expert, archaeologist and author of many historical books.
Malton Museum, based in Yorkersgate, is re-opening at 10am on Saturday, May 29, May.
