THE team at a Thixendale family farming business has launched an initiative to connect local firms for the benefit of their customers.
Jennie Palmer from Yorkshire Rapeseed Oil approached selected Yorkshire businesses to participate in the ‘Eat Yorkshire' promotion that will run throughout March.
She said: "For us and many of our business friends, meeting up and selling at food fairs and farmers' markets is a great part of the job that we have really missed this year.
"I wanted to do something to give something back our loyal customers, so I approached like minded family businesses to take part in a virtual food fair with a difference: Eat Yorkshire.
"There are 12 businesses taking part in the initiative and all will offer a discount on online orders until March 31."
The list of businesses taking part is Yorkshire Rapeseed Oil, Staal Smokehouse, Side Oven Bakery, The Chilli Jam Man, Wold Top Brewery, Sloemotion, Anna's Happy Trotters, Raisthorpe Manor, Lottie Shaws, Puckett's Pickles, Yorkshire Wolds Apple Juice and Yorkshire Tonics.
Yorkshire Rapeseed Oil, which was established in 2008 by Adam and Jennie Palmer produces a range of oils, dressings and mayonnaise based on their rapeseed oil that is produced exclusively from home and Yorkshire Wolds grown rape that is pressed, blended and bottled on the family farm.
