THIS month marks 20 years since the devastating floods of 2000 which hit parts of Ryedale.
We've put together a gallery of pictures taken at the time showing how it impacted on homes, businesses and so many lives.
The River Derwent hit an all-time flooding peak in Malton and Norton at 19 metres deep, 3.5 metres higher than the average for the time of year.
Read here how it is still impacting on people's lives 20 years on.
- Today's Gazette & Herald has a special eight-page picture supplement looking back at the floods. Pick up a copy at your local shop.
