AN appeal to help save an historic walled garden is less than £2,000 off its £50,000 target.
Helmsley Walled Garden, which features in this year’s forthcoming cinema release The Secret Garden starring Colin Firth, Julie Walters and Dixie Egerickx, is a charity reliant on entry fees, grants and donations.
It launched its Our Secret Garden campaign in March to raise at least £50,000 after it was unable to open this season due to coronavirus.
As of today, donations have reached just over £48,500.
The campaign offers people the chance to adopt a square metre of the garden. All areas available are listed on helmsleywalledgarden.org.uk/
