WALKERS are being urged to put their best feet forward and join a hiking group.
Get Your Boots On is a hiking group aimed at people in their 20s and 30s from across North and East Yorkshire, and new members are always welcome.
A spokesman for the group said: “We are part of the Ramblers, a nationwide charity that helps everyone enjoy walking.
“The group has members from across the region, from York to Hull and Scarborough, and we are currently looking for new 20 and 30-somethings to join us on our walks
“The group explores the stunning Yorkshire countryside, from the Moors and the Dales, to the Wolds and the coast, with walks for all abilities from short easy flat walks to challenging hilly walks.”
This year’s events included walks at Bolton Abbey, Castle Howard and Thornton-le-Dale, and an Easter trip to Ben Nevis, and over the summer the group walked the Cleveland Way, the 109-mile National Trail from Helmsley to Filey, split into nine sections.
Andrew Prior, the group’s publicity officer, said: “Get Your Boots On is a friendly group, and we always welcome new members.
“I really enjoy exploring the scenic countryside, and the fresh air and open skies are great for stress relief.
“New walkers are welcome to come on up to three walks for free, before becoming Ramblers members.”
Get Your Boots On is one of more than 50 Ramblers groups around the UK aimed at people in their 20s and 30s.
Annual membership of the Ramblers is £36, and there is no charge for attending walks.
