A HORSE and rider from Sherburn were victorious in the Petplan Equine advanced medium silver championship, held in Gloucestershire.
Charlotte Cundall and LJT Simply Red got top place position in a very competitive class at the Hartpury College venue on Friday, April 5.
Charlotte was thrilled with Simply Red’s performance in an electrifying atmosphere with some exceptional partnerships competing for the Petplan
Equine Advanced Medium Silver title.
She said: “I’m absolutely over the moon, I just can’t believe it.
“To come second yesterday and go one better today is amazing, I’m ecstatic. I was just so pleased with his test in this class, he was brilliant.”
The combination qualified through two rounds of competition and won their place at the Championship at the Petplan Equine Area Festival Final at Manor Grange.
Simply Red is a 16.2hh, 10-year-old liver chestnut sired by Sixten Langhold and owned by the Lady Joseph Trust.
The partnership clearly impressed the judges with a beautiful performance achieving a winning score of 71.70 per cent.
Kate Hopkins, marketing consultant at Petplan Equine, said: “Celebrating the talent of our amateur dressage riders and their equine partners is what the Petplan Equine Area Festivals are all about.
“We would especially like to congratulate Charlotte and Simply Red on their fantastic win and wish her the very best of luck for the future.”
British Dressage’s chief executive Jason Brautigam added: “I am once again captivated by the dedication and commitment shown by the competitors.
“This is the real grassroots of our sport in action and the standard reached is to be applauded.”
