IN addition to its recent winter dressage final, Friars Hill Riding Stables in Sinnington also held the final round of its Little Leagues series at the weekend.
Little Leagues is a series of six competitions for younger riders. In each competition the children receive instruction on their task for the day and then, having practised it, they compete against each other.
The emphasis is on having fun while taking part in a grassroots competition.
Points are awarded for being placed and these are added up and at the end of the series a champion and reserve champion are decided. On Saturday they were awarded their sashes.
The final results were: 1 - Lucy Warne; 2 - Annie Foster; 3 - Olivia Waites; 4 - Gracie Leonard; 5 - Bertie Smailes.
This year the children - along with their instructor Fiona Hardman - have worked on such things as showjumping, barrel racing, gymkhana games and Le Trek.
A stables spokesman said: “The children and parents alike are very supportive of one another and this makes for a warm and friendly atmosphere.”
