AN equine veterinary practice based in Malton is expanding its services.
Baker McVeigh & Abbott, situated in York Road, said it is growing its services in the sports horse, competition and pleasure horses division of the practice.
Brian Abbott, partner at Baker McVeigh & Abbott, said: “We are delighted to be expanding our business into the sports horse and leisure horse sector further.
“We have been based in Malton for five years providing a service predominantly to the racing clients.
“As our team expands we are able to offer further services without compromising existing clients or the high level of care we provide.”
The team of equine-only vets offers a range of services, including routine visits and veterinary care, lameness and poor performance investigations, pre-purchase examinations, standing surgery and a full out-of-hours emergency service.
The team on the road are equipped with technology such as mobile digital x-ray machines, endoscopes and ultrasound scanners to provide personalised care at owners’ own yards.
Baker McVeigh & Abbott routinely cover areas throughout Yorkshire reaching as far afield as Middleham, Northallerton, Thirsk, Scarborough, Hull, Doncaster, Leeds and Harrogate.
It is the north of England branch of the international Baker McVeigh group, which has practices in South Africa, France and the UK.
Baker McVeigh equine clinics were founded in 1963 by Dr Brian Baker in Summerveld, in the heart of Kwa-Zulu Natal. John McVeigh joined Dr Baker in 1990.
