TWO Ryedale School students have been named Scarborough and District Sportsman and Sportswoman.
Sportsman of the year Jacob Head played for the under 15s England rugby union development squad, and represented Yorkshire in the 2016/17 season.
He was 18th in the national biathlon championships and county biathlon champion and has represented Scarborough and District at cross-country and athletics. He was a member of the Ryedale School basketball team which won the North Yorkshire schools under 15 championship.
Morwenna Talling was awarded the sportswoman of the year. She has captained the North of England and Yorkshire girls rugby union teams and has represented Scarborough and District at rugby, hockey, netball, cross-country and athletics.
Morwenna has been part of the school netball team that was Scarborough and District champions.
They received their trophies at the Scarborough and District School sports annual meeting.
