BUSINESSES in Ryedale devastated by this week's flooding could be entitled to a share of a £1m recovery fund.
Government regeneration body Yorkshire Forward has set up a jackpot to help employers impacted by the recent floods.
Small firms could receive up to £2,500 for immediate recovery needs if they fill in a one-page form.
Larger companies (employing over 250 people) will be assessed on a case by case basis.
Both schemes will be available from next week and will contain criteria to ensure that support does not duplicate what insurance policies would cover.
Tom Riordan, Chief Executive of Yorkshire Forward said: "The exceptional scale of this flooding warrants swift and decisive support to be put in place for affected businesses. I have talked to a number of regional MPs in the last day or two and have agreed that Yorkshire Forward should make financial support available to help businesses affected by the flooding to restore their business premises and begin trading as soon as possible."
Companies from across the region can contact 0800 022 6201 to register and receive more details. Lines will be open 8am to 8pm seven days a week.
