A "prize pack" of TdY goodies is up for grabs as part of a new competition.
The bike selfie competition, launched by Scarborough Borough Council, is encouraging people to snap a cycle-themed self-portrait, with a prize for the best one.
Lots of old bicycles have been painted in the race colours of blue and yellow, and displayed in different places along the race route.
Residents and visitors are being encouraged to take selfies with the brightly coloured bikes - or take photographs of their friends and family - and then post their images to Twitter and Facebook using the hashtag #TdYcomp.
This will put them in with a chance of winning a Tour de Yorkshire prize pack, which is being put together by the local Welcome to Yorkshire tourism team.
Janet Deacon, Welcome to Yorkshire area director, said: "Some of the world’s top cyclists will once again experience the thrill of riding through landscapes that are regarded among the most spectacular in the country and we are hugely looking forward to the climax of the race in Scarborough.
"We want people to get involved and take pictures of themselves with our painted bikes and help promote the place they love to the millions who’ll be following the Tour de Yorkshire."
