RYEDALE MP, Kevin Hollinrake, joined the team at the Duke of York in Gate Helmsley to toast the success of the pub’s launch following a £165,000 joint investment by Punch and publican Antony Pratt.
The pub re-opened last month following a refurbishment that completely transformed the interior and exterior of the site, making the most of its impressive views and creating a light and welcoming pub that serves a wide range of locally sourced produce.
Mr Hollinrake said: “It’s fantastic to see this great local pub restored to its rightful place at the heart of the community. I hope locals and visitors also enjoy the warm hospitality I received at the Duke of York. It is really good that the menu includes ingredients from Yorkshire producers. It will no doubt become a valued asset to residents and tourism in Gate Helmsley. I was happy to raise a glass to its future success. ”
Publican Antony Pratt said he has been delighted with the reaction from customers following the investment.
He said: “This has been a very exciting project for all of us and we have been overwhelmed by the great response from customers old and new.”
