A PUB has been named as one of the best in the area for Sunday lunch.
The Fairfax Arms, in Gilling East, was included in the top five places to enjoy a meal by Welcome to Yorkshire, the official visitor guide to the county, and was described as “a quintessentially British pub”.
The review stated: “It does seem to get better and better, set in such a lovely part of Yorkshire and is great for families.”
Rob Fawcett, who has owned the pub for 15 years, said he was delighted with the accolade.
“We have a new team on board and are getting really good feedback,” he said. “This is well-earned recognition for the appreciated efforts of all the staff at the Fairfax Arms, especially manager John Glover and head chef Ben Turner.”
