A NEW bus service to the North York Moors is to be tested out after appeals from passengers.
The new Moors Explorer will run from Hull, Cottingham and Beverley up to the North York Moors every Sunday and bank holidays through the summer.
Hull-based bus operator EYMS had previously run services to the Moors as part of the National Park’s Moorsbus network, but the National Park Authority had to withdraw the scheme after funding cuts.
EYMS decided to step in to put on its own commercial service to the area after receiving many requests. EYMS commercial manager Bob Rackley said: “It’s a bit of a risk, as the bus has to be well-used every weekend for it to even break even, but we didn’t want to leave people without the chance to visit the moors.”
Moors Explorer runs every Sunday and bank holiday from May 25 until September 28. More information go to: eyms.co.uk or by phoning BusLine on 01482 592929.
