NORTON councillors have praised the Christmas tree festival held at St Peter’s Church in the town.
Held at the beginning of December, 30 businesses, charities and organisations put together a display related to their individual actvities. The event attracted more than 400 people and raised £580 for good causes.
Mayor Councillor Ray King praised Reverend Rachel Hirst for organising the event.
“It really was something special and I am sure the church can build on the success of the festival for next year,” he said.
“Thanks to Councillor Di Keal as well for decorating a tree on behalf of the town council.”
