THIS is the lucky couple who have won a three-course meal for two at the Talbot Hotel, in Malton.

Barbara Todd, 62, of Pickering, was picked as the winner of the Gazette & Herald competition, after answering the question “Who is the executive chef at the Talbot Hotel?”

“I am just delighted to have won”, she said. “We have been once before but we had a cream tea, not a meal and it that was when it was first built.

“We are really looking forward to it and the surroundings are beautiful.”

Barbara will take her husband, Barry, 68, for the meal which they can enjoy either one lunchtime or one evening.

The hotel was recently presented with a highly-commended award in the Hotel Of The Year category at the Yorkshire Life Food and Drink Awards.

Barbara said: “I haven’t had a chance to look at the menu yet, but I am sure there will be many delicious things that we will be able to choose from. And thank you to the Gazette & Herald.”
