THE Ryedale co-ordinator of Neighbourhood Watch has been presented with an award by the Chief Constable of North Yorkshire, Dave Jones.
Mr Jones visited the Neighbourhood Watch’s AGM at Pickering County Junior School to present Terry Wallis with an award for his work co-ordinating Rural Watch in the district.
Residents said Mr Wallis had re-vitalised the Neighbourhood Watch in the area, and had taken on the role of area co-ordinator for Kirkbymoorside and surrounding area, and made regular recruitment presentations to parish councils and the community.
Local Inspector Andy Everitt said: “I am delighted that Terry has received this year’s award in recognition of his commitment to neighbourhood watch in his area.”
