ROUGHLEY Irene Rose Irene died peacefully in Scarborough Hospital on February 12th, 2021 aged 93 years. A lovely, cheerful and courageous lady who struggled determinedly through her last years. Irene is sorely missed by her husband, Frank, to whom she was lovingly married for 70 years. A great and sad loss is felt by sons Paul and Ian and their wives, Lynne and Lavinia, grandchildren, Anna, Nikki, Sara, Christopher, Amanda and her five great-grandchildren. Irene will be remembered by those in Thornton le Dale, in the 80's, for her helpful work in the Post Office, for many years, her activity in the Thornton le Dale W.I. and the Pickering Flower Club. Due to the current situation a private funeral service will be held at Woodlands Crematorium, Scarborough, on Friday March 12th, at 12.45pm. Donations in memory of Irene may be given for Candlelighters (Children's Cancer Charity), Wateraid and Parkinson's UK.
