McDOWELL George Quincy Of Lastingham passed away suddenly in Scarborough Hospital on June 7th, 2017, aged 75 after a battle with cancer. He leaves a loving wife Jo McDowell, daughters Emily and Leah McDowell, Diane O'Neil, a son William Descoteaux and son-in-law Andrew O'Neil, five grandchildren, a brother Paul and two sisters Dorothy and Carolyn. An American citizen he has lived in Lastingham, for 23 years and immersed himself in dominoes, darts and bowls and all things English. He was instrumental in replacing the "Golf Balls" at RAF Fylingdales and installing the new phased array radar. The funeral service will be held at Octon Crematorium on Tuesday June 27th, at 11.00a.m. Family flowers only please but donations to Cancer Research would be welcome in his memory.
