A ONE-woman show which was awarded five stars by the critics is coming to Helmsley Arts Centre on Friday, April 17.
From the company that brought the sell-out show Austen’s Women to the theatre last year, this gripping play, The Unremarkable Death of Marilyn Monroe, shows the stricken film star as never seen before.
Alone in her bedroom in a dressing gown; no glitz, no glamour, no masks. The woman behind the icon unravels her remarkable life and travels back through the memories of her closest relationships.
This radical interpretation of one of the world’s most famous women is Dyad’s fifth original production in as many years and, although a work of fiction, exposes the truth behind the legend.
It is written and directed by Elton Townend Jones, performed by Lizzie Wort and produced by Rebecca Vaughan.
