FOLLOWING the positive response to its premiere in 2013, Told by an Idiot’s Paul Hunter and much-loved classical actor Edward Petherbridge reunite to tour My Perfect Mind.
Blurring events from a life-changing chapter in Edward’s life and moments from King Lear, the show is a moving and comic exploration of the resilience of the human spirit.
Edward Petherbridge was cast as King Lear. A major stroke then left him barely able to move.
As he struggled to recover, he made a startling discovery: the entire role of Lear still existed word for word in his mind.
In My Perfect Mind, which will be performed at Scarborough’s Stephen Joseph Theatre from November 11 to 15, Edward reflects on the remarkable coincidences as Paul Hunter plays everyone from his hospital consultant to Lear’s fool.
A special event, In Conversation with Edward Petherbridge, takes place at 4.30pm on Saturday, November 15.
It is free to ticket holders or £3 to anyone who would like to just attend this event.
Tickets, priced from £10 to £21.50, are available from the box office on 01723 370541 and online at sjt.uk.com
