THE Charles Dickens (Malton) Society is presenting a special adaptation of “A Christmas Carol” on Friday, at 7pm, in St Mary’s Priory Church, Old Malton.
In this performance, the audience will be able to enjoy the society’s presentation of classic scenes from this seasonal story involving Ebenezer Scrooge, Bob Cratchit, Tiny Tim, Mr Fezziwig, Jacob Marley and the ghosts of Christmas Past, Christmas Present and Christmas Yet to Come.
There will be bells chiming, doom and gloom, humbug aplenty and reminders of life in cold, candle-lit days.
To get everyone in the festive spirit, the audience will be invited to join in singing some of the society’s best-loved Christmas carols during the presentation. Those who know the story will delight in the fact that all ends well as the newlyinvigorated Scrooge emerges as a man who embraces the true meaning of Christmas, every day of the year.
Although presented in the church, this is not a church service. There will be refreshments, including glasses of Smoking Bishop (mulled wine) or fruit juice, and seasonal delicacies.
Proceeds go to St Mary’s Church Fund.
Tickets are £5 and can be purchased at the door. The ticket price includes a lucky programme and refreshments.
This event is the perfect way to get in the holiday spirit and will be a feel-good experience for all the family
