YORKSHIRE’S first-ever multi-farm machinery manufacturer and dealership event will be held next month.
It will take place at the York Auction Centre and has been organised by Yorkshire Agricultural Machinery Show.
Organiser Richard Tasker said: “The idea came about when a neighbouring business owner, Phil Robinson, who runs Yorkshire Handlers Ltd, came to ask whether he could hire our premises to put on an open day for the launch of a new McCormick tractor.
“The whole thing snowballed in a matter of weeks and every farm machinery dealership and all the manufacturers they represent will be there, including everyone from Ripon Farm Services, Russells and Wilfred Scruton’s to potato harvesting manufacturers and trailer businesses.”
The largest agricultural machinery show in England, LAMMA, has made a move further south this year and that will add weight to Yorkshire Agricultural Machinery Show’s debut.
Richard said: “We’ve had a fabulous reaction from the Yorkshire dealers who have their own individual shows and open days, as well as those who traditionally attend other events. But we’re concerned about not getting ahead of ourselves.”
Mr Robinson, of Yorkshire Handlers Ltd, said: “It’s certainly mushroomed from when I first walked across to see Richard, but it’s a brilliant idea and we will certainly benefit from far more people seeing our all-new McCormick X70 tractor than would have been the case with our own open day.”
The show will take place on Wednesday, February 5. For details go to www.ylc.co.uk
