Public Notice

North Yorkshire County Council

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF PEDESTRIANS)
(PUBLIC FOOTPATH 25.109/6/2, KIRKHAM ABBEY, WHITWELL-ON-THE-HILL) ORDER 2015 NO 353 Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 - Section 14(1) (as amended)
North Yorkshire County Council intends to make this Order to prohibit any pedestrian from using the Public Footpath 25.109/6/2, Kirkham Abbey, Whitwell-on-the-Hill between grid references SE731658 and SE733657 in the District of Ryedale for a temporary period of 6 months (subject to access to premises) between 16.11.15 and 15.05.16, due to public safety, the crossing is compliant with level crossing policy due in part to the presence of train whistle boards on the approaches. Due to the curvature of the railway line there is a restricted sighting line along the track and although approaching trains are required to sound their horn, it cannot always be heard due to localised variable conditions at this location - the closure period will only apply as indicated by the placing of traffic signs and a local alternative route will also be signed on site where appropriate.
