NORTH YORKSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL

NORTH YORKSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF PEDESTRIANS) (PUBLIC FOOTPATH 25.109/6/2, KIRKHAM ABBEY, WHITWELL-ON-THE-HILL) ORDER 2014 NO 238 Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 - Section 14(1) (as amended)

North Yorkshire County Council has made an Order, which will be to prohibit any pedestrian from proceeding along Public Footpath 25.109/6/2, Kirkham Abbey, Whitwell-on-the-Hill between grid references SE731658 and SE733657, in the District of Ryedale due to public safety, the crossing is compliant with level crossing policy due in part to the presence of train whistle boards on the approaches. Due to the curvature of the railway line there is a restricted sighting line along the track and although approaching trains are required to sound their horn, it cannot always be heard due to localised variable conditions at this location.
The maximum duration of the Order will be from 09.07.14 until 08.01.15 inclusive and it is envisaged that the works will be undertaken over this timescale. The closure will be put into effect by notices and signs and a local alternative route will be signed on site.
Pedestrian access to premises will be maintained at all times.
