EMERGENCY crews have tackled a fire in a North Yorkshire village.
North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service say they were called out at 3.53am today (August 19) after reports of a fire in Brandsby near Easingwold.
A service spokesman said: “Both fire engines from Malton, along with crews from Easingwold Fire Station, Helmsley Fire Station, Acomb Fire Station and a water bowser from Boroughbridge Fire Station were call to the barn fire in Brandsby near Easingwold.
"To maintain the fire cover within Malton and the surrounding areas, Tadcaster Fire Station were requested to standby at Malton until the return of one fire engine.
"The incident has been scaled down with two appliances monitoring it for the rest of the day. North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service."
