Donors have been thanked for contributions towards inclusive classes at Kirham Henry Performing Arts Centre.

The Wilfred Jackson Will fund and Jack Brunton Foundation have made donations towards the Malton-based centre's Dancing with Parkinson's, Dementia, MS, Blind and visually impaired classes.

Managing Director Angela Kirkham, said:

"We are so thrilled to have received funding from these organisations towards these classes. We also received a generous donation from the widower of one of our Dancing with Parkinson's participants from our outreach class at Wigginton.

"We need equipment and more removable ramps to make the studio accessibility easier for our wheelchair dancers and those who use mobility aids.

"The training for these specialist classes cost a great deal and so we are so grateful for the support as our community classes are going from strength to strength.

"All our adult projects from our Golden Gliders dance exercise class, Silver Swans ballet for over 50s, Happy tappers and White Swans adult ballet classes have proven health benefits both physically and mentally."

Angela added: "We are continuously fund raising with Friends of Kirkham Henry, our charity arm, to improve our facilities to make our entrance and exits fully accessible and update to building so we can continue to deliver classes of all ages. As an inclusive not for profit organisation we are Makaton, age, family, dementia, friendly and are very proud of our continuous support of our local community at that of our far afield outreach programmes."
