FIREFIGHTERS were called to a combine harvester on fire in a North Yorkshire village today (August 12).
Crews from Malton, Acomb and Tadcaster responded to reports of the fire at 3.32pm on Main Street in Thixendale.
A spokesperson for North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service said the combine harvester fire had spread to a standing corn field.
The spokesperson said: “Fire measured approx 200sq metres.
“The farmer created a fire break in the corn field and crew extinguished and dampened down the area.”
