FIREFIGHTERS have responded to an engine fire near Kirkbymoorside.
North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service says a crew from Kirkbymoorside and an officer attended a fire to the engine compartment of a van carrying kerosene on Blakey Ridge at around 9.16am yesterday morning (May 19).
A spokesperson said: “The driver of the vehicle extinguished the fire using a dry powder extinguisher.
“The fire crew dampened down the engine and removed the contents of the van as a precaution. One hose reel jet and thermal imaging camera were used.”
