A QUICK-thing motorist put out a car on fire in Thornton-le-Dale.
Fire crews from Pickering were called out at about 8.15pm on Friday to reports of smoke coming from a car on the side of the road.
A passing motorist with a dry powder extinguisher managed to put out the fire before firefighters arrived, who stood by while residual heat in the centre console died down.
