A HELMSLEY woman is aiming at being a 'dirty hero' to raise money for a heart charity.
Elaine Otterburn from Castlegate is taking part in the 'Dirty Hero' challenge at Duncombe Park on Saturday, July 22 to raise money for CRY (Cardiac Risk in the Young), in memory of her partner's brother Mike Scott.
Mike died suddenly of ARVC, an undetected heart condition, in December 1996, and his family have been raising money ever since.
CRY is the UK charity that works to reduce the prevalence of young sudden cardiac death and supports those affected by the conditions that can cause it.
Every week in the UK at least 12 young people die of undiagnosed heart conditions.
'Dirty Hero' is an obstacle course and cross country run which covers either five or 10 miles. Ms Otterburn is running as part of a team of Helmsley women called 'Em's Angels' with others raising money for various good causes.
Donations can be made by visiting justgiving.com and searching for Elaine Otterburn or by texting 70070 and entering the code PMSC79 with the donation amount.
