A CHRISTMAS fair this weekend is launching a fundraising campaign to refurbish Huttons Ambo village hall.
The facility is regularly used by a number of groups including the Art Club, the monthly village social ‘The Meeting Point’, quarterly quizzes and other activities.
Liz Ellis, from the village hall committee, said they were aiming to raise funds to refurbish the kitchen and toilet facilities in the hall which would benefit the whole community.
"Huttons Ambo is a small village and the hall is the only real community facility so it is particularly important to keep the building and facilities fit for purpose," she added.
"There is a great deal of enthusiasm and good will in the village to support the hall and the work to be undertaken."
The first fundraising event will be the Christmas Fair on Saturday, November 22, 2 to 4.30pm
Attractions will include festive food and music along with stalls selling cakes, books, white elephant and Fairtrade goods, new children's designer clothes, toys, crafts, gifts and Christmas cards.
There will also be competitions, a grand prize raffle, and plenty of activities and games for the youngsters.
Liz said: "Further fundraising events are being programmed and grant funding options being researched and we hope to start a phased programme of work in 2015.
"Everyone is welcome to start your Christmas with us in Huttons Ambo this Saturday and raise funds for our village hall."
